The 13th annual Designated Driver campaign is encouraging the nation to give the ‘Gift of a Lift’ this Christmas to help keep our roads safe.

The award-winning campaign running across Ireland and Northern Ireland will once again offer free soft drinks, water or juice to designated drivers from 28th November, with a number of leading GAA and rugby stars lending their support for the 2017 campaign.

Coketails

This year, Coca-Cola HBC has also created bespoke ‘Coketails’ created by expert mixologist Ilario Alberto Capraro.

As an additional option to the ‘two free soft drinks’ on offer, the unique mocktail recipes will be visible on point-of-sale in participating venues, and aims to enhance the occasion for selfless designated drivers across the country.

This year's campaign also sees digital innovation, with the introduction of new ‘mobile wallet’ vouchers which can be downloaded via text or QR code.

For iOS 10 and earlier: Open your mobile wallet app, tap ‘passes’, scan the QR code to add the digital vouchers to your wallet.

For iOS 11: Open your camera, scan the QR Code, tap the link & add the pass to your wallet.

Tap ‘Add a Gift Card’, select ‘Coca-Cola IE’. Your pass is now ready for redemption.

How to claim

Now your drinks vouchers are in your Mobile Wallet or Android Pay app on your smart phone, ready to use when you want to claim your free Coca-Cola or Coketail in a participating bar or restaurant around the country.

To redeem simply show the bar staff your voucher and click redeem to avail of a free soft drink. Once redeemed the barcode will turn grey.

When the first voucher has been redeemed the second voucher will automatically become available to use.

You can also share the Gift of a Lift with your loved ones this Christmas. Once you have received your voucher a friend can scan it with their phone and get their own vouchers.

What is a designated driver?

A designated driver is defined as someone who is driving friends and family home from a night out socialising, whilst abstaining from alcohol for the evening. The designated driver may avail of two FREE soft drinks from the Coca-Cola range over the course of the evening in participating licensed premises.
